Next Steps Childcare Centre and the Forest School is at the Royal Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.  We offer outstanding childcare from birth to 8 years old from 8am until 6pm every weekday, nearly all year round.

Next Steps has the added advantage of being sited in 240 acres of beautiful countryside within the boundaries of the Showground.  An easy to find location with excellent access and no parking problems.

Our Award Winning Day Nursery offers superb facilities for all the different age groups and has available a Baby Room, Nursery, Pre School and an After School Club.

Our recent Ofsted inspection rated us outstanding for the strong partnerships we form with our children's parents and guardians.  We were praised for our professionalism, effective team work, the quality of care provided to children of all ages, and our extensive range of outdoor facilities and purposeful activities.

We have two large secure themed gardens, one with a Forest School, where we use nature and the environment to encourage and inspire the children to grow in confidence, independence and self esteem through mastering small outdoor tasks.  Click here for some photos of our Forest School.  The other garden has a specialised baby area for outdoor sleeping (monitored by CCTV), a vegetable patch and three activity areas for free play.  

Every child's progress is carefully recorded and photographed in their personal file, providing a complete visual and written record of their development.

All the team at Next Steps are qualified Nursery Nurses or Early Years professionals.  We also have specialists in every area to best meet the needs of your child, whatever their age.  We pride ourselves on our holistic approach to childcare, offering Yoga, Singing Music and Dance, Gardening and Cooking sessions weekly.
