Our Baby Room is open for full day care from 8.00a.m-6.00p.m Looking after babies is a skilled job. A parent leaving their infant with an early years Nursery Nurse needs to feel confident that their baby will be well looked after, happy, safe and secure in a comfortable environment within a cosy setting. Each child is appointed a trained key worker who will discuss your child's development and day with you. At Next Steps the babies have the use of two rooms, the first room is a play area filled with toys and equipment suitable for the age and ability of your baby. The second room, with an Ocean theme to instil calm and relaxation, is a sleep room with individual colour coded cots.
A small kitchen is attached to the baby room, in which we store the babies' feeds for use throughout the day. All baby equipment is labelled and stored correctly, in your child's own named basket. The baby room team will ensure that your baby gets lots of attention and cuddles, and their physical needs are attended to at all times. Next Steps will also provide your baby with home cooked meals appropriate for their stage of development All children develop at different rates and the Nursery Nurses in the baby room are trained to recognise which stage your child is at and are able to respond to and encourage the babies in their individual ways. All development is monitored and recorded using the "Early Years Foundation Stages". Upon enrolment you will receive a diary to note down any instructions, the diary will be completed daily by our staff recording feeds/nappy changes and general issues. All parents should feel free to telephone the baby room at any time to speak to a member of staff, if you have any questions or concerns. Please note the list of equipment required for your baby's first day. First Day List
