What is Forest School ?
A Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning, no matter what the weather.
The philosophy of Forest School is to encourage and inspire children of any age through positive outdoor experiences.
Participating in engaging, motivating, achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment, each participant has an opportunity to develop intrinsic motivation, plus sound emotional and social skills.
Forest Schools have demonstrable success with children of all ages who visit the same local woodland on a regular basis, and through play, have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment. They also learn how to handle risks, and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others.
The Forest School opened in 2003 and runs daily, managed by our senior team. The forest school is attached to the Pre-School so no transport required.
Children use full sized tools, play, learn boundaries of behaviour; both physical and social, establish and grow in confidence, self-esteem and become self motivated.
As well as developing
